Getting Started as a Community Librarian

With the change in the role and function of the library, the desired competencies of employees are also changing. One of the trends that has emerged recently is the transition to a “community library,” in which the library is given the role to facilitate the “neighborhood” in access to literature, education & development, culture, information and digital skills. This means a more proactive role in providing access to information (in the broadest sense).
