We look back on a very successful 3 day workshop at The Department of Library and Information Studies of the University of the West Indies, Kingston Jamaica.

During the 3 days the teachers Stanley H. Griffins (UWI, DLIS), Cheryl Peltier – Davis (UWI, St. Augustine Alma Jordan Library) and Eric Kokke (GO | School for Information) introduced the participants to topics like the information society, data management, records management, social media, new competences, Virtual Reality and marketing

The participants (79) closed the workshop with a group assignment and accompanying presentation. We were impressed with the results. Especially in the limited time available. The assignment consisted of developing a new information service that had to be innovative, affordable, scalable and clearly add value for the user. Plus a small marketing plan for the purpose of attracting users.

We were very satisfied by the evaluation results and the compliments we received. As one of them wrote us: “Thanks again for a fantastic summer institute”
