Last week GO Training was active in Curacao and Aruba to contribute to three events focused on information services in the (Dutch) Caribbean.

From 5 to 9 June, the annual conference of the Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries took place in Curacao. GO Training participated in this special conference for the 6th time.

This year, we not only sponsored the conference, but we also provided two workshops (on change management and the strategic use of social media). We were also responsible for an extra addition to the programme in the form of a symposium on the ‘professionalisation of information management in the Dutch Caribbean + Suriname. Here, too, we provided a workshop.

At the end of the week, together with our lecturer Migiza Victoriashoop, we travelled to Aruba to give presentations on ‘Archiving by Design and the importance of good information management to department heads of the Aruban ministries at the closing event of the ‘Semana di Archivo’.

It was a hectic, but interesting week with many new contacts and reunions with ‘old’ acquaintances and new insights.
